30-MINUTE SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS
While I love cooking homemade sauce and hand-rolled
meatballs, sometimes we just don’t have the time. This is a great, quick recipe to feed your
family J
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, chopped
4 to 5 garlic cloves, minced
1 28-ounce can or box of crushed tomatoes
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ cup dry red wine
2 tablespoons white sugar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon each of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion
powder and Italian seasoning
4 jars of spaghetti sauce ( I use Bertoli)
1 bag of Italian-style frozen meatballs
Taste sauce and add more seasonings to your liking if
desired
In a large pot, cook the onion in the olive oil for 4 to 5
minutes then add the garlic. Add the can
of tomatoes and the next 4 ingredients. Add the seasonings and stir well. Now add the jars of sauce and the frozen
meatballs. Simmer for at least 30
minutes or until meatballs are heated through.
The longer it simmers on real low heat, the better! Serve with your favorite style of pasta.
